Email

There is an email message system within YMCALearn that allows you to contact your instructors and peers. Your communications with your instructors and classmates using the email and discussion tools fall under the YMCA Participant Conduct Code. Always ensure your communications are respectful, promote a positive and safe learning environment, and are related to your courses. Please remember that your learning environment includes all online activities.

To access your Email, use the Communication link on the navbar and choose Email.

How YMCALearn Email Works

YMCALearn email relies on your personal email being correct. You should click into your Profile Settings (top left of your screen) and click Edit My Profile to check and make sure your email is correct. You should also make sure YMCA email isn’t going to your junk mail. You will be notified when you receive a message, and you will need to login into YMCALearn to read your messages. Please keep all communication with your Business Advisor and Facilitators within the Learning Platform.

Feedback

Even the smoothest entrepreneurial journeys hit snags, though. So we’ll suggest a few places you can turn to for help:

If you have a specific problem with YMCA ONLINE (the product) — Use the black “Feedback” tab on the right-hand side of the course (Here’s a brief video demonstrating how to use it). Your facilitator and Business Advisor can help you specific business questions, we hope you’ll use this for site bugs, content suggestions or general questions about the product.

Tip: By the time you finish the Let's Start section you will be able to navigate within the Learning Platform easily and effectively. You will be able to create a discussion post in the Q&A section and learn how to submit assignments to your Business Advisors.

Practice Activity

If you haven’t done so yet, add your bio to your profile settings!

Access your Profile Settings by clicking on your name on the blue minibar and selecting “Edit My Profile“. Scroll down the page and type your bio in the “Biographical Info” box. Choose “Update Profile“.

To practice sending an email within YMCALearn, send a test email to your own YMCALearn email account using the YMCALearn Email tool. Note that this will be your main method of communication with your business advisors and for submitting assignments for review and feedback.
